Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how SPARK ("SPARK," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the SPARK mobile application and the sparknec.com website (together, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. How We Use Information

3. Third-Party Services

SPARK relies on a small number of third-party services to operate. Each receives only the data needed to perform its function.

Google (Gemini AI)

When you submit a photo for analysis, the photo and a derived text prompt are sent to Google's Gemini API for inference. Google processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not provide Google with your name, email, or account identifier.

Firebase (Google) — Authentication

Used to authenticate Google Sign In on Android. Firebase receives your Google account information as part of the sign-in flow.

Apple — Sign In with Apple

Used to authenticate sign-in on iOS. Apple's privacy practices govern data they collect during sign-in.

PostHog — Product analytics

Used to understand how the app is used. PostHog receives events such as screen views, button taps, and a hashed identifier derived from your account ID. PostHog is hosted in the United States.

Railway — Hosting

Our backend server, AI pipeline, and stored content (photos, inspection records, team links) run on Railway infrastructure, hosted in the United States.

4. How We Store and Secure Data

Inspection photos and records are stored on our server in flat files. Connections between the app and our server use HTTPS. Access to the server is restricted to authorized SPARK personnel.

Heads up: SPARK is an early-stage product. Our infrastructure is appropriate for the closed-beta phase but is not enterprise-hardened. Do not submit photos containing personally identifiable information (faces, ID badges, license plates) or proprietary client information unless you are comfortable doing so.

5. Sharing With Other Users

If you are an apprentice and have linked to a foreman, your foreman can see the inspections you submit to them, including the photo, the AI's verdict, and any code citations. Foremen do not see inspections from apprentices on other teams.

If you are a foreman, your linked apprentices can see that they are connected to you. They do not see inspections from your other apprentices.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers.

6. Your Choices and Rights

Delete your account

You can delete your account at any time from the in-app Settings screen. This permanently removes your account record, your inspection history, your submitted photos, your feedback, and your team links from our active systems. Deletion is scoped to your account only — it does not affect other users.

Email us

You can also email kayla.comalli@gmail.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Region-specific rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example, the GDPR in the European Economic Area or the CCPA in California). To exercise those rights, email us at the address above and we will work with you in good faith.

7. Children

SPARK is intended for adults working in the electrical trades. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email where appropriate.
